- <<<<<<* ZipPal Version 1.0 *>>>>>>
-
- ZipPal is for those folks having trouble with unzipping their ZIP
- files into the right place. It will ask the user which zipfile they
- want to unzip and where they want to unzip it to. I know this sounds
- too easy but you would be surprized how many people who are normally
- very intelligent, fall apart at the DOS command line.
-
- This program must have PKUNZIP.EXE(any version) located in your PATH
- to function properly. You know that your PATH is determined usually
- by that line in your AUTOEXEC.BAT that looks like this:
-
- PATH=C:\;C:\DOS;etc. etc.
-
- If you're not sure if you have PKUNZIP.EXE in your PATH then go to
- where it IS located and type COPY PKUNZIP.EXE C:\ then hit ENTER.
- Then get a copy of DOS For Dummies by Dan Gookin...like right now.
-
- OK, now your ready to run ZipPal.
- Type ZIPPAL and hit ENTER.
-
- ZipPal will ask you the name of the zipfile you wish to unzip.
- (Upper or lower case is insignificant.)
- Example: What is the name of the file to unzip?
- >Barney.zip
-
- If you enter a filename that is NOT in the current directory or
- in your PATH, ZipPal will beep and give you the option to try again.
-
- If ZipPal can locate the zipfile you entered then it will ask you
- where you wish to unzip the file to.(You must be specific and include
- the drive\subdirectory you wish the unzipped file to end up. This
- DOES NOT have to be a subdirectory in your PATH). ZipPal will then
- proceed to unzip the zipfile at LIGHTNING FAST SPEED so look out.
- (Upper or lower case is insignificant.)
- Example: Where do you want the file unzipped to?
- >c:\games\barney
-
- If the subdirectory you enter does not exist (or you typed it wrong!),
- ZipPal will beep and ask if you wish to create the subdirectory.
- If you answer Y then ZipPal will make the directory and proceed to
- unzip the file into the newly made subdirectory...at LIGHTNING FAST
- SPEED...loook out!
-
- ZipPal will exit and leave you in the subdirectory you specified.
- Isn't that simple? I thought so.
-
- ZipPal also shows you the current drive and directory you are in
- as well as the drives total space and free space in case you get
- carried away unzipping files all over your hard drive.
-
- ZipPal will always look for zipfiles with imbedded subdirectories
- and utilize the -d parameter to include them automatically if they
- exist.(Useful for us sharp veterans that FORGET to type the -d...!)
-
- This program has been thoroughly tested by me and should cause you
- NO problems....I don't worry about such things because............
- I BACKUP MY FILES REGULARLY!
- You should do so as well.
-
- Input good/bad is the only price I request for this program. See the
- README.TXT or README.BAT file on where I can be reached. Hope to hear
- from you.....even if you think this program STINKS!
-
- Enjoy!
